I thought this was a very fun book. The book takes place in New York City in the early 1950's. Lucia has grown up in Greenwich Village - in a traditional Italian family. She makes custom clothes for the "uptown crowd." It was fun to have a glimpse of that life, which in reality no longer exists the way it used to.
It would be a great read for a vacation, or anytime for that matter.
(Trigiani wrote the Big Stone Gap books, which I also really liked)
