My Favorite Travel Accessories

Three favorites:
1. The travel clothesline. It's hard to see in this picture, but there are suction cups on the end. This one is by Lewis N Clark, and it runs about $4.50. It stuck to any wall I put it on and is very stretchy. We each had a carry-on bag in China, and washed out undies, shirts, and socks on a regular basis. It saved us a lot of space.

2. Power Glide. I actually used the anti-chafe roll on, but used it on my feet. Next time I'll get this one which is specific for feet. It was wonderful. No blisters, and I usually get blisters even from shoes I've worn a lot. I might add that baby powder was wonderful too.

3. My best travel accessories ever. I mean ever. I bought these two Le Sportsac purses before our New England cruise, and I love them. The small one holds my passport, wallet, sunglasses, small digital camera, lip gloss, and a pen. At least that much. Sometimes more. It measures 7.5 inches by 9.5 inches (stretched). The shoulder strap is adjustable to 48 inches long, and is also removable. I added a small carabiner on the strap rings, and hang my hat from that when I don't want to wear my hat but still want it near at hand. (A Tilley hat, which I love).

The small bag can easily fit inside the large bag. The large bag is 15 X 13 X 4 inches. It's my purse on the plane, and the small bag is inside, plus a file folder with our travel information, my Kindle, a coat, an umbrella, cough drops, tissue, my Grandmother's Flower Garden handwork, and anything else I feel like I need (toilet paper in China, for example). The  purse is never unwieldy, nor heavy (it's very lightweight empty). And it folds perfectly flat if I don't need it. And it's waterproof. I'm tempted to buy a second set in case something happens to this one. But so far it seems very durable.

  1. Do the purses come as a set? Where did you get them?

  2. THANK YOU for posting this! I had so much trouble with my feet on this trip and I have expensive, comfortable shoes. Paul and I are going to Croatia next month so I have my shopping list, now!

  3. Thanks to this post, I bought a similar small purse at TJ Maxx (I ran out of time to track down a Le Sport Sac). I used it on our trip to Califonia and Disneyland and it was AWESOME! It perfectly fit my phone, wallet and other items in each zipped pocket. Our boarding passes or park map fit in the outside pocket for easy access.
It's also super handy when I go to the gym. Everything I need can stay with me and I don't have to use a locker.
    Thanks Diane!
