Blink by Malcolm Gladwell

Here come the books I read on vacation - and it was a good vacation, book-wise as well as company-wise.

The first book I read was Blink. I've been intrigued by this book for a long time, picking it up every time I'm in a book store, and reading the first several pages. I've wanted to read it, but it just hadn't floated to the top of my list yet. Then Audrey picked it for our book group this month and it was the perfect time to grab it and really delve into it.

Gladwell has a real talent for making facts interesting. I found it fascinating to learn how we make decisions. The front of the book sums it up beautifully: Thin-Slicing, Snap Judgments, and the Power of Thinking Without Thinking.

Read it. I think you'll find it interesting. I think having read this helps me trust my first reaction when making a decision.

  1. I love his writing - I recently read Outliers and also Tipping Point and loved both. I haven't read Blink yet, but it's on the list.
