This is the first in the series, and was every bit as good as An Irish Country Christmas, which is the third in the series (and I read first, before I knew it was a series). I like the writing, I like the story.
It has a hint of Mitford, thrown in with a hint of James Herriott's All Creatures Great and Small, but it's its own story, and stands on its own two feet.
I've been under the weather since before Christmas. I've had a cold which developed into an ear infection, coupled with laryngitis. Consequently I've had time to read and relax, and that's exactly what I wanted for Christmas.

I have An Irish Country Christmas on my Kindle right now! It's a fun read, but I am wishing he would dump the girlfriend who won't come and see him for Christmas. She is acting like a real poop. I suspect it will all be resolved, but I am not sure I will forgive her.
ReplyDeleteJust finished Irish Country Christmas on your recommendation. Seemed pretty slow starting out, but then I got hooked and really enjoyed it. Country Doctor is waiting for me at the library right now, but alas, they are closed today! Thanks for the recommendation, good reads are hard to find.
